For daycare & preschool groups

Kids yoga & mindfulness for daycare

Playful movement, animal yoga and simple breathing games for toddlers and preschoolers. Rainbow Feelings adapts the method for the youngest children — short, sensory, and always in motion.

Sound familiar?

Overstimulation starts early

In a group full of toddlers and preschoolers, joy, sadness and frustration switch rapidly. A fixed, recurring calm moment provides structure — not by making children sit still, but by moving, breathing, and imitating an animal together.

The approach

Movement, animals, and a calm moment

For toddlers and preschoolers, the session is mostly about the body, not words. Three simple building blocks that together form a fixed ritual.

Animal yoga

Animal yoga

Frog, elephant, butterfly — recognisable movements children love to imitate, giving energy somewhere to go.

Breathing games

Breathing games

Simple techniques like 'smell the flower, blow out the candle' — easy to remember, even without many words.

A sensory calm moment

A sensory calm moment

Soft music, slow breathing and a fixed spot — so the transition to calm becomes predictable.

Pedagogical staff actively join in, and can keep using the movements and breathing games afterwards during the daily routine.

Why this approach

For the children — and for your team

A recognisable movement ritual

Movement and breathwork actively break overstimulation, rather than waiting for it to pass on its own.

Techniques your team can take over

Pedagogical staff learn the breathing games too, to use themselves during the daily routine.

Calm without sitting still

Sensory calm through movement and repetition — age-appropriate, not enforced stillness.

Fits the existing daily routine

No separate room or equipment needed — the session fits in the group room or a corner of the play area.

Developed for the youngest children

Adapted pace and language for children aged 2 to 6, with plenty of repetition and physical action.

Led by an experienced kids yoga teacher

Every session is guided by the same familiar teacher.

Experiences from parents and teachers

These reactions come from The Mindful Kids' existing kids yoga sessions and workshops — a sense of how children and staff experience the method.

My daughter took part in an activity at The Mindful with coach Gagan, and she loved it. The combination of drawing and yoga was creative and perfectly suited to children.

Frequently asked questions

Is this suitable for toddlers who aren't talking much yet?

Yes. The session is mostly physical and sensory — imitating animals, moving, simple breathing. Language supports but doesn't lead, so it works well for children still developing their language skills.

Do you also work with babies (0–2 years)?

No, the programme is developed for toddlers and preschoolers from about age 2. For the very youngest, the movement exercises don't yet fit their development well.

What does a session or programme cost for our location?

That depends on group size, frequency, and the format you choose (one-off, 8-week block, or ongoing). We work with a tailored quote — get in touch and you'll receive a proposal within a few days.

How many children can join a session?

Usually up to about 12 children per session, appropriate for the age group and keeping enough individual attention.

Do you need a separate room?

No. The group room or a quiet corner of the play area is enough. We agree on this together beforehand.

Is this a replacement for existing activities, or an addition?

An addition. Most locations schedule this as a fixed recurring moment alongside their existing activity offering.

How do you handle child safety?

We take this seriously and are happy to discuss it during the introductory conversation, so it fits within your protocols.
