Let's bring kids yoga to OIS

The Mindful Kids has run successful camps across Amsterdam, Haarlem and Hoofddorp. Now we want to bring weekly 45-minute classes to Optimist International School — and we need OIS parents to show the school this matters.

We've done this before

Tested. Loved. Ready for OIS.

In May 2026 we ran 3 camps across 3 cities — up to 25 kids per session. We also ran a special Mother's Day yoga session where kids made handmade gifts for their mums. The Rainbow Feelings method has been refined through every one of those classes.

The Rainbow Feelings Method

3 friends who live in every heart

Kids don't just do yoga. They learn a language for emotions — and a physical tool they can use at school, at home, and for life.

When something feels too hard

Orange tapping point · 'Trying my best'

C

Captain Calm

He floats in when we breathe

Inside a 45-minute session

Every minute is intentional

Not just yoga. A complete neurodevelopmental experience — wrapped in stories and play.

0:00Step 1

The Biggest Smile

Every child gives their biggest smile of the day. Serotonin releases, the nervous system shifts — and the room becomes safe.

0:10Step 2

Sun Salutation Warm-Up

Kid-friendly Surya Namaskar wakes up the whole body. Shyness dissolves. Energy settles.

0:20Step 3

Meet the 3 Characters

General Grumpy, Captain Calm, Hip Hip Hooray — kids learn their tapping points and use them for life.

0:30Step 4

Story Yoga

Yoga poses woven into a story. Kids don't notice they're practising — they're living the adventure.

0:40Step 5

Body Scan

Lying down, eyes closed. A gentle body scan that teaches interoception — one of the highest-leverage skills a child can learn.

0:45Step 6

Closing Circle

Each child shares one colour. They leave with the anchor: when General Grumpy visits, I breathe. Captain Calm floats in. Then Hip Hip Hooray arrives.

Questions

Frequently asked

When would classes take place?

We're proposing after-school sessions (e.g. 14:30–15:30), though we're also open to during-school hours if the school prefers. Your timing preference in the form below helps us make the case.

How much does it cost?

€160 per child for the full 8-session course — that's €20 per session. This includes all materials and a take-home Rainbow Feelings Mission Card.

Do I commit to anything by signing?

No. Signing the petition simply shows the school there's demand — it doesn't lock you in to anything. You only book and pay if the course goes ahead and you choose to join.

What is the Rainbow Feelings method?

It's our signature emotional framework. Three characters (General Grumpy, Captain Calm, Hip Hip Hooray) give children a vocabulary and a physical tool for every emotion — tested across 25+ kids in our May 2026 camps in Amsterdam, Haarlem and Hoofddorp.
