Kids Summer Camp 2026 · ages 5–12Become a Heart Detective
Three mornings. Three suspects — General Grumpy, Captain Calm and Hip Hip Hooray. One unforgettable mission where your child learns to know their biggest feelings — like a real detective.
Three days. Three real heroes.
Each day your detective steps into the true story of a real Dutch hero — an astronaut, a painter and a discoverer. Every one of them found something great inside themselves, and your child carries that strength home.

André Kuipers
The Dutch astronaut who floated high in space — until he found his courage again.

Vincent van Gogh
The painter who saw colour everywhere and dared to imagine — there's no 'wrong'.

Antonie van Leeuwenhoek
The man with the magic lens from Delft, who found tiny hidden worlds — and the rarest treasure: you.
Our three friends — General Grumpy, Captain Calm and Hip Hip Hooray — live in every heart.

Three skills for life.
In three mornings your child uncovers three superpowers they carry for life — at home, at school, and with friends.
Resilience
Like the ball: falling is part of it — and you always rise again. I can do hard things.
Creativity
Ideas change shape and colour — there's no 'wrong'. Dare to imagine and make.
Gratitude
A heart that swells with the good things — and discovers how unique and enough you are.
Three days. Three cases to crack.
Every morning opens a new case: collect clues, interview witnesses, go on stakeout and treasure hunts — and unlock a real superpower by the end. Yoga, breath and craft are the detective's secret tools.

The Case of the Vanished Courage
A real Dutch astronaut — André Kuipers — is frozen at the space‑station hatch. The Doubt Shadow stole his courage and hid it in 5 secret letters. Your mission: find them all and bring his bravery back.

The Case of the Missing Imagination
Vincent the painter has lost his imagination — the world's gone grey. Follow the clues past the Chef, the Teacher and the Mountain Climber, spell D‑R‑E‑A‑M, and give Vincent his colours back.

Three tools. Forever.
Each morning your detective makes one real tool for home — not a toy, but tools that work the moment a big feeling shows up. Plus their own Werkboek that keeps the whole adventure.

The best detectives work outside.
Heart Detective runs mostly outdoors — because a heart listens best when grass tickles its feet.
What parents say.
My kids absolutely loved the Mindfulness Camp! The perfect mix of active fun and calming mindfulness. They came home buzzing with stories about yoga and fun breathing exercises.
My two daughters recently attended classes at themindful.nl, and the experience was wonderful. They truly enjoyed the teaching methods and found the sessions engaging and full of life.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Mindful Kids summer camp?
It's a bilingual (Dutch/English) summer holiday camp for children aged 5–12. Over three mornings your child does kids yoga, mindfulness, breathwork and playful 'Heart Detective' missions that teach resilience, creativity and gratitude — our Rainbow Feelings method. The camp runs in Hoofddorp, Haarlem, Amsterdam and Amstelveen in July and August 2026.
Where and when does the summer camp take place?
Four locations across Noord-Holland: Hoofddorp (6–8 July 2026, Jeugdland Hoofddorp), Haarlem (13–15 July 2026, Wijkcentrum De Ringvaart — Floris van Adrichemlaan 98), Amsterdam (3–5 August 2026, Groot Melkhuis — Vondelpark 2) and Amstelveen (10–12 August 2026, Community Center Pluspunt). Each location runs once, three mornings in a row from 10:00–13:00.
What age is the summer camp for?
For children aged 5 to 12. We work in small groups of up to 12 children per location and adapt the activities by age, so both younger and older kids feel at ease.
Is the camp in English or Dutch?
Both — the camp is fully bilingual and led in Dutch and English. That makes it a great fit for Dutch-speaking, English-speaking and international families.
How much does the summer camp cost?
From €38 per morning per child. Two mornings are €73 and the full three-morning mission is €105. A sibling discount is applied at checkout. Included: the full detective kit, three take-home tools, parent onboarding and a certificate.
Do we have to come all three mornings?
The three mornings build on each other (resilience → creativity → gratitude), so the full mission is recommended. You can also book a single morning or two if that suits you better.
Does my child need yoga experience, or anything to bring?
No experience needed — everything is playful and beginner-friendly. Send your child in comfortable clothes with a water bottle and a healthy snack.
Is this a good holiday activity for a shy or highly sensitive child?
Yes. The camp is calm, small-group (max 12 children) and built around emotions and self-regulation. Many parents of shy, easily overstimulated or highly sensitive children find it a gentler choice than a big sports or day camp.
We're looking for a kids activity in Hoofddorp this summer — is this a good fit?
Yes. Our Hoofddorp summer camp (6–8 July 2026, Jeugdland Hoofddorp) is a fun, active and calming holiday activity for children aged 5–12: yoga, mindfulness, crafts and outdoor play wrapped in a playful detective mission. A lovely change of pace between busier outings.
What are fun things to do with children during the summer holidays around Amsterdam, Haarlem and Amstelveen?
In summer 2026 we run camp mornings in four cities — Hoofddorp, Haarlem, Amsterdam and Amstelveen — so there's usually a location close to home. Kids do yoga, breathwork and creative tasks while learning to handle their feelings. Ideal if you want a meaningful activity instead of screen time.
Are there summer activities for kids who aren't into sports?
Absolutely. This isn't a sports camp — it's built around yoga, mindfulness, stories and crafts. Many children who don't feel at home at football or adventure camps thrive here, in a calm group of no more than 12 kids.
What's a good holiday activity for a 5-year-old? And for older kids aged 9–12?
The camp is for ages 5–12 and adapts by age. Younger children get more play, stories and movement; older kids go deeper into the 'detective' missions and self-regulation. Both ages share one small, safe group.
I'm looking for a calm or indoor-friendly kids activity for the holidays — do you offer that?
Yes. The mornings are gently paced around yoga, breathwork and creative tasks — a good choice for easily overstimulated or highly sensitive children, and handy when the weather doesn't cooperate.
Is this a good way for my child to make new friends over the holidays?
Yes. Children work through the missions together in a small group, do partner exercises and share wins. Many make new friends over the three mornings — helpful if your child doesn't see many peers during the break.
The case won't wait.
